Two established medical facilities in Tunis now provide overnight sleep studies that track breathing patterns, heart rate and movement for patients reporting chronic fatigue.
Interest in these services has grown alongside the city's established wellness routines, where residents already balance daily walks along the waterfront with evening yoga sessions in neighborhood parks. Sleep researchers note that untreated disruptions affect work performance and mood in a population where many commute long distances across the city each day.
The Sleep Wellness Center on Rue Ibn Khaldoun in the Berges du Lac district opened expanded polysomnography rooms in early 2026, allowing up to six patients per night to undergo monitored rest. Staff there coordinate with nutritionists who recommend local meal timing adjustments to support circadian rhythms. A second site, the Polysomnography Unit at Hôpital La Rabta near Bab Saadoun, schedules studies three evenings a week and supplies take-home devices for follow-up checks in the Medina quarter.
These locations sit within easy reach of major thoroughfares such as Avenue Habib Bourguiba, where many participants park before their appointments.
A basic overnight study at either site costs 380 Tunisian dinars as of July 2026, according to the Tunisian Society of Sleep Medicine annual report released last month. The same document states that 38 percent of adults surveyed in greater Tunis reported sleep difficulties lasting more than three months, prompting the addition of 12 new technician positions across both clinics since January.
Interested residents can call the centers directly to arrange an initial consultation, then follow any prescribed changes such as consistent bedtimes or reduced screen use after 9 p.m. Local physicians recommend confirming coverage with national health insurance before booking.
